University System of Georgia College Entrance Requirements

Students in Georgia have a wide range of choices for continuing their education. The University System of Georgia offers students higher education options at 35 colleges and universities throughout the state, providing a wide range of academic programs, including certificates, associate, baccalaureate, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees.

The Board of Regents establishes minimum requirements for the University System and meeting those requirements does not guarantee admission to the institutions within the System. Many institutions within the System have additional requirements depending on the type of institution and the space available. Check with the admission office for additional information regarding admission requirements and application deadlines.

• Entering college as a freshman student — I haven't attended college following my high school graduation.

• Entering as a joint enrollment/dual enrollment student — I am still in high school and wish to also take some college classes before graduating from high school.

• Transferring from another college — I attended college following my high school graduation.

• Entering as a non-traditional freshman — I last attended high school 5 or more years ago. If I attended college it was also 5 or more years ago and I have less than 30 transferable hours.

• Attending as a transient student — I wish to be a visiting student to take courses that will transfer back to my home institution.

• Attending as a postbaccalaureate student — I have already received a bachelor's degree and wish to take some courses without working towards obtaining another bachelor's degree.
