Griffin Technical College is a public, coeducational, two-year institute located in north central Georgia approximately 40 miles south of Atlanta serving Butts, Fayette, Jasper, Henry, Lamar, Pike, and Spalding counties. The College belongs to a statewide network of 34 technical colleges and 4 Board of Regents Colleges operating under the authority of the Georgia (State) Board of Technical and Adult Education (GBTAE). The GBTAE is composed of fifteen members, one from each congressional district and five selected at large. The legislature gave the GBTAE the authority to establish local boards of directors for the technical colleges in Georgia. The Local Board of Directors for Griffin Technical College is composed of nine members, representing the six-county service area served by the College. The programs and services offered by Griffin Technical College provide educational services and promote the economic development of the six-county service delivery area. |
